I'd like to see more of this.

First off, awesome work. I'm pretty much new to newgrounds, but after scanning the archives every so often I can say that this flash is scores above most. Showing Mario in this light is amusing, and the presentation of it stirs all the right images of a Communist world -- from the music, the grainy film, hammer & sickle, etc.

For criticism, I can say that during the first time watching, I thought the battle with the goombas was -slightly- too long, and I kept waiting for something new to come, for the flash to develop into a sort of short movie. What was there was spectacular, but I would have liked there to be other enemies, perhaps becoming a full scale battle.

I noted, also, a bit of (perhaps unintended) Matrix-esque styling, with Mario flying up/slamming back down or the surrounding goombas and spiraling-away hammer. It would be cool to further this idea, although it has become such a cliche that taking a different direction could do just as well.

Keep up the good work, and yes you deserve the applause. Bring on more of The People's Mario!!

As others have stated, its clearly a take on My Odyssey by Scarf, but you're version (and the notes you changed) is pretty slick. I agree with the others... you're take, as a full non-vocal version, would be freakin' sweet. What you have so far is awesome.

Wow. Just wow. I love this style -- somehow it reminds me of Star Fox. Freakin' epic ... can I use it in an XNA game?
